The waves that thunder against steep cliffs and echo back out to sea on the rugged Oharui coastline near Wellington, gave the first Boomrock venue its name.
Kauri Bay Boomrock overlooks the beautiful seascapes of the much calmer Waiheke Channel. The lodge is nestled in 500 acres of rolling green hills and native wetlands near Clevedon, Auckland.
Designed by architects Caroline Robertson and Tim Gittos, this premier lodge has just opened its doors in time for summer. “It’s Auckland’s ultimate experience venue,” says managing director Ollie Ormond.
From exclusive wine tastings to bespoke dinners for 10 to 250 guests, expect exceptional service and the best of New Zealand cuisine and wine. Just 45 minutes by road from Auckland, or less than 15 minutes by helicopter, Kauri Bay Boomrock also serves up a menu of ultimate adventure experiences.
While I was at Boomrock, I loved trying out the extreme golf, knife throwing and shooting. It was so exhilarating to try something new! Whether heading off road in a four-wheel-drive or testing your chopper-flying skills, you can really get the brain buzzing and the heart rate pumping here. I loved the clay bird shooting at The Bunkers. Guests can also flex a bow and arrow on the archery range, and follow it up with a spot of digger driving. Or you can get behind the wheel of a very fast, high-powered car and test your limits on the track on a self-driven slalom test.
Whether your preference is whisky tasting with a select few, fine dining with a spectacular view or chasing thrills, Kauri Bay Boomrock will have you smiling.
